Grand Union

Synopsis

2f, 4m

A few weeks since it happened. Halloween is coming, the intercom won’t stop glitching, and six employees at a grocery store in Pomona, New York stock the aisles of a country engulfed in newfound dread. When Meach, the store’s lonely manager, hires Harleen, a sharp-tongued Sikh cashier, something long-buried begins to rise in both women. But when two teenage stockers hatch a perilous scheme to fund their enlistment, the paranoia of the outside world crashes through their doors and becomes an undeniable, terrifying presence. A darkly funny, haunted play about American longing, American fear, and the dust that climbs up inside us.
