Well hello! It’s been a minute! Does anyone read these updates? Does anyone care? Don’t answer that!
It’s been a busy last third of 2025. In September, I started my first year as a fellow in the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at The Juilliard School under the mentorship of Tanya Barfield and David Lindsay- Abaire. And, guys…I knew I would like Juilliard, but I didn’t realize I would love it. I’ve been blown away by the talent of my classmates across the playwriting and acting departments, and the kindness, humility, and work ethic of every person who walks through the door. It’s changed my life, full stop, and makes me want to be a better person.
Our directive as playwriting fellows is to write six plays in two years and in October, I shared my first—Nazi Mind. It’s a darkly funny, disturbing dive into ambition, power, tenderness, and boyhood through the story of a school project gone wildly off the rails. I’m so, so excited about this play. You can find out more on my website or New Play Exchange—and if you’d like to read it, hit me up!
A few weeks ago, Nazi Mind was chosen for a Play Lab at Juilliard—where a full play has a reading in front of the entire drama department. The cast was Joshua Chapman, Sam James, Ty Lynott, Cormac MacLachlan, Jamonte Madison, and Kylie Westerbeck—and they were astonishing.
A final piece of Nazi Mind news—the play was awarded a 2026 New York State Council on the Arts grant!
Some other updates:
-I received commissions to write new plays from Manhattan Theatre Club, Audible Theatre, and the Lucille Lortel Theatre’s Alcove New Play Development program!
-I was nominated for The Ollie New Play Award from the Paul Adams and Bret Reich Foundation!
-burn for You was nominated for the 2026 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize!
-burn for You was a Finalist for the Theatre 503 International Playwriting Prize!
-Tremolo was a semi finalist for the Parity Development Award!
-Tremolo was a second rounder for the Austin Film Festival’s Playwriting Competition!
-I was a semi finalist for a Colt Couer Residency!
Okay, that’s all for now. It’s been an incredible year of writing and building community. It’s very en vogue right now to say that theater is dying and everything will soon be AI and the world is going to shit, but I truly don’t feel that way. More to come in 2026. I can’t wait.
